American General Guidelines

Please read the guidelines below before proceeding.

MINIMUM ORDER VALUE

The American General Catalogue requires a minimum order value of USD 3,500 (approximately CAD 5,500 after exchange rate & commission),
OR
A full pallet of products (mixing possible, minimum 80 cubic feet)
Orders below these thresholds will not be processed.

IMPORTANT: When adding products to your cart, the product's cart value is the cost at source in USD, NOT your final cost in CAD.

Your landed cost will be provided to you upon receiving your final invoice.

ORDER PERIODS & ORDER FREQUENCY

This catalogue operates on a scheduled order cycle. Frequency: every 2 weeks

Periods end on: Sundays at midnight (going into Monday)

The countdown for this catalogue's ordering period can be found on the homepage.

Orders placed after the cycle will be queued for the next period.

ORDER DELAY

The American General Catalogue is order-based, not stocked.
Average timeline:

  • Supplier processing time: 5-7 business days.
  • Transport to Canada: 1-2 business days.
  • Transport to your location: 1-5 business days (depending on your location).

On average, our clients receive their orders around 9 to 10 business days after the end of an ordering period.

PRICING METHOD

The American Catalogue pricing is calculated using:

  • Supplier cost in USD
  • Estimated exchange rate of 1.40 (USD to CAD)
  • Our 10% commission fee (8% for orders over USD 10,000, and 5% for FTL)
  • Landed cost contributors:
  1. Freight
  2. Duties (0% for CUSMA-eligible products)
  3. Brokerage & Clearance fees

Prices may fluctuate between catalogue cycles due to changes in exchange rate, transport costs, or supplier pricing.

IMPORTANT: "Your Price" under the products and on the product pages is the approximate landed cost that we calculate for you, landed at our warehouse in Canada.

Shipping from our warehouse to your location shall be a cost incurred by you, the buyer.

Final landed cost will be sent to you at the time of invoicing.

INCOTERMS

All shipments from Sourçage to the customer operate under
FCA (Free Carrier) – Montréal Warehouse.


This means that once your order arrives at our Montréal facility, Sourçage prepares
and hands the goods over to the designated carrier. At that moment:

  • Responsibility transfers to the buyer
  • All shipping charges are billed to the buyer
  • Transport risk (loss, damage, delay) shifts to the buyer


Sourçage covers all logistics from the supplier to our Montréal warehouse.
From our warehouse to your destination, you assume full cost and liability
for ground transportation.

PAYMENT TERMS

New customers without prior purchasing history must send payment or deposit after their order is confirmed by our supplier.

All orders must be paid in full before dispatch from our Montréal warehouse.

Payments are processed in CAD for all domestic clients.
Export customers may request to pay in USD.

WAREHOUSE PICKUP & DELIVERY

Orders can be:

  • Delivered through our carrier partners to your location, or
  • Picked up at our warehouse (by appointment only)

Storage beyond 3 business days after arrival will incur a fee of $20 per pallet.

MISSING ITEMS & DAMAGED GOODS

Missing items must be documented, and Sourçage must be notified within
48 hours of delivery. Once reported, we will investigate
the issue with the supplier and credit the missing items accordingly.


Damage that occurs during transport from the USA to Canada
is the responsibility of Sourçage. We will work directly with the supplier
or carrier to resolve the matter.


Damage that occurs after dispatch from our Canadian warehouse
is the responsibility of the buyer, as liability transfers once the goods
leave our facility.

COMMUNICATION & UPDATES

Throughout the process, you will receive:

  • Order confirmation. This lets you know which items from your order are available/unavailable. We operate on a ~95% fulfillment rate.
  • Supplier ETA (when we expect to receive the products)
  • Warehouse arrival notice (when the products physically arrive at our warehouse)
  • Delivery scheduling (when we will ship + shipping delays, or when you can pick up your order from our warehouse)
